How we work

Survey. Plan. Build. Measure.

One method across both divisions, so the plan and the product are drawn to the same scale, by people who talk to each other every day.

01Method

Four stages, two views.

  1. 01

    Survey

Understand the ground before drawing on it. We talk to the people involved, read the data and test what everyone assumes.

    Plan

  2. 02

    Plan

Make the hard choices visible. Options, trade-offs and numbers, closed out in a decision the leadership team owns.

    Plan

  3. 03

    Build

Stand the plan up. Products, platforms, automations and programmes, delivered in short cycles you can see.

    Elevation

  4. 04

    Measure

Check the building against the drawing. We agree the measures at the start and report against them honestly.

02Engagement models

Four ways to work with us.

Pick the shape that fits the problem. Many clients move between them as the work evolves.

  • 01

    Project

A defined question or product, with a fixed scope, team and timeline.

    Best for
Strategies, studies, evaluations, websites and MVPs.
    Length
    4–20 weeks
    Pricing
Fixed fee, agreed before we start, paid against milestones.
  • 02

    Retainer

Reserved capacity each month for ongoing advice, product development or improvements.

    Best for
Product teams, care plans, policy monitoring and board advisory.
    Length
    3 months minimum, rolling
    Pricing
Monthly fee for a set number of days or hours.
  • 03

    Embedded team

Our people working inside your team, on your tools and rituals, for a defined period.

    Best for
Transformations, product launches and capability building.
    Length
    3–12 months
    Pricing
Day rates per role, invoiced monthly.
  • 04

    Acceleration programme

A cohort programme for startups or internal ventures, designed and run end to end.

    Best for
Corporates, donors, universities and public agencies.
    Length
    8–16 weeks per cohort
    Pricing
Programme fee, with optional success-based components.

03Timeline

What a typical engagement looks like.

Indicative. Smaller projects compress this; programmes extend it.

  1. Week 001

    First conversation

30 minutes. The problem, the constraints, whether we're the right fit.

  2. Week 102

    Proposal

Scope, team, timeline, price and the measures of success, in plain language.

  3. Weeks 2–403

    Survey

Interviews, data, the ground truth. First hypotheses on paper.

  4. Weeks 4–804

    Plan

Options, trade-offs, a decision, and the plan to deliver it.

  5. Weeks 6–2005

    Build

Products, platforms and programmes in two-week cycles.

  6. Ongoing06

    Measure

Reporting against the agreed measures. Adjust, improve, hand over.

04 — Questions

About working with us.

How do you price work?

Most projects are fixed-fee against an agreed scope, so you know the cost before we start. Retainers and embedded teams are priced monthly. We'll always give you a range in the first conversation.

Who will actually do the work?

The people you meet are the people who do the work. A partner stays accountable from first call to final review.

Can we start small?

Yes. Many clients start with a two-to-four-week diagnostic: a clear picture of the problem and a costed plan, with no obligation to continue.

How do you report progress?

A short written update every week, a working session every two weeks, and a shared view of the measures we agreed at the start.

Next step

Start with a conversation.

Thirty minutes, no slides. We'll tell you how we'd approach it.
